	A HOME FOR ART 1997-2007 FONDATION BEYELER Ten years ago, the Fondation Beyeler opened its doors in Riehen. A superb collection, housed in a superb museum building, and supplemented by regular special exhibitions of art on the same high level of quality – this was the vision of collectors Ernst and Hildy Beyeler. Today this vision is still very much alive, thanks not least to you, our visitors, who come from far and wide to Riehen to experience the intensive encounters with art to be had here. We would like to celebrate this year with you, with a very special jubilee schedule. First of all, the biggest highlights of the year – our exhibitions. Running until July 15 is a moving and exciting review of the art of the great Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, quite new aspects of which await discovery in Riehen. Our summer schedule continues, from August 19, with “The Other Collection – Homage to Ernst and Hildy Beyeler.” An unprecedented overview of the Beyelers’ vision of modern art, the show will juxtapose the finest works from our own collection with exquisite loans from around the world, outstanding works by the greatest modern artists, which over the years passed through Ernst Beyeler’s hands and entered major museums and private collections.
